Connect.Grow.Serve.Share.

Connect.Grow.Serve.Share is the discipleship model build by our leadership team for Seymour First United Methodist when we asked ourselves, “What would our faith-family look like if we were making disciples?”  This gave birth to what our vision would look like if our faith-family is making disciples. It would resemble a house with 4 pillars and key items visible in each pillar, all grounded in prayer. Some items cross more than one pillar.

Connect. (Connecting with Others)

As Christians, we are communal by nature.  By connecting with others, we can build relationships.  We connect not to draw people into our building but to build relationships and share Christ with one another.  Sometimes we are telling someone for the first time, but other times we are lifting one another up by helping each other on our spiritual journey.  Some ways we connect at Seymour First are:

  • Life Groups (small groups that meet regularly)
  • Game Day
  • Relationship Team (follow up to build relationships after events)
  • Trunk or Treat
  • College Prayer Partners
  • Vacation Bible School (VBS)
